Nursery

Overview

Overview

At Websters we are aware that strong foundations are important to hold the structure built over it. Foundations are the hidden rock that supports the building that stands over it. The Pre-Nursery to UKG section is foundational to the long-term, lasting learning in a child’s life.

We ensure that students are cared for and the premises are clean and safe. Students develop in the areas of phonetics, reading, and writing with most of their learning happening through activities.

There are support staff available for the duration of the school hours ensuring that student recess times, play areas and restrooms are supervised and well maintained.

Curriculum Overview

The shift for a child from a home environment into a school environment is a huge milestone and can often be challenging. We at Websters endeavor to make this transition smooth by ensuring students feel welcomed and are comfortable.
Supportive teachers, access to a dedicated play area and ample open-air space assists in enabling students to absorb their new environment and adjust with ease. The school follows the syllabus as prescribed by the Govt. of Karnataka, and goes beyond the prescribed content.

Our education program is focussed on:
  • Sufficient play and fun learning concepts
  • Assessments that gauge cognitive skills (observation, exploration, problem solving and critical thinking)
  • Social skill development
  • Laying an adequate foundation for the next stage of learning

Our Curriculum is divided into the following areas of learning:
  • Language and Literature – English
  • II and III Language – Hindi and Kannada (UKG only)
  • Basic Maths
  • Story Telling
  • General Knowledge
  • EVS (UKG only)

Assessment

Assessment

Progress should be measurable, towards this we at Websters, employ both formal and non-formal methods:
  • Children are assessed on a daily basis in the classroom. Children perform differently at various tasks and teachers make every effort to help every child progress.
  • Homework ensures learning happens at home and reinforces what is taught in the class
  • Conversation skills, interactive skills, and handwriting skills are developed
  • Tests and exams are conducted and report cards are provided to parents
